GOOD morning — and a pleasant weekend to all our readers. Here’s a further list of glittering winners in our Quiz that sought the names of three of PNG’s women ambassadors or high commissioners. Off we go ...
***
DEVJANI Chaudhuri in Canada is first — he scored two out of three with his Lucy Bogari/Jean Kekedo duo. Joe Natera with Bank South Pacific was the next respondent, also with two out of three; his choices were “my dearest Aunty Jean Kekedo posted at London” and former USA ambassador Meg Taylor.
***
FROM Sharon Tokaplen came a fully correct answer: Sharon chose the triumvirate of Lucy Bogari, Margaret Taylor and Jean Kekedo. Hot on Sharon’s heels was the Sepik Iron Man, none other than old friend Stephen Damien. Stephen organises the highly popular Sepik Iron Man competition, hence the title.
***
AN interesting and thought-provoking e-mail from regular contributor Irene Gashu, who lives in Tokyo, Japan. Irene gave the correct three choices, then added: “Thank-you for giving attention to prominent women. It is sad but the fact is that there is still a lot of discrimination against women in many countries of the world, including Japan (the country of my ancestors), Argentina (the country where I was born and educated) and Papua New Guinea (the country I like most of the 75 I’ve visited).”
***
M’LUD David Faithfull, described by Spy as “one of the renowned Elder Yachtsmen of the Madang Club” added his distinguished name to our list with three correct choices; we also note he described his place of abode as “Spyville”. We picture stone pillars encrusted with lichen, the great iron gates opening on a sweep of gravelled drive, peacocks strutting across manicured lawns...
***
REALITY suggests, however, that Ancient Scribbler Spy’s Madang empire of contacts is growing — wonder if the old boy’s thinking of joining the 53 candidates confirmed for the Madang Open seat in the coming elections. Shudder.

MORE winners on Monday — and can we remind you of the current Quiz that closes on Sunday at 5pm? Who was Owen Stanley, after whom the Papuan mountain range was named? DeeNesenolis@ hotmail.com is the address. Cheers — and good luck!
