Lae clubs involved in pre-season nines

By SAMPSON BONAI
THREE more clubs Lae Highway Inn Royals, Kamkumung Crushers and Magani have confirmed their participation in round two of the Lae rugby league pre-season nines competition this weekend.
Lae league executive officer David Atua confirmed their participation at the coming pre-season nines competition and said they have all given their undertaking that they will all field teams this weekend.
“The league gave them a strong warning to comply with the league and PNGRFL’s requirements or they will be fined for failing to comply and they turned up at the meeting and gave us their assurance to field a team to take part in the pre-season nines competition,” Atua said.
“The clubs have given us their full support and also assured us that they will all be fielding teams to take part in the pre-season nines competition,” he said.
“Many teams such as Lee Supplies Brothers have also paid their club affiliation fees but have yet to have their players cleared by a medical doctor before they take the field this weekend.”
