Sorcery is worse than HIV

I support the idea for the Government to make laws to tackle the growing problem of sorcery.
I see it as an epidemic with a similar magnitude to HIVAIDS and it is spreading faster and becoming the greatest enemy in the mindset.
I agree that newspapers should report these merciless and vicious killings. I am from Gahuku valley near Goroka and have observed such events all my life.
I have witnessed several killings. Their effects are very adverse and inhuman, with a father or mother left without a partner, fatherless or motherless kids and mothers or fathers who struggle to raise their kids.
When these kids grow up they are labelled as sorcerers and are unable to attend schools because the fear factor affects whole community and rational thinking is lost. This sorcery belief is dynamic and spreading fast in PNG, which require similar attention like HIV/AIDS.
Churches and other organisations in the community cannot do much when mob rule takes over.
This is totally absurd and requires stronger intervention from the government so the police can deal swiftly and effectively with this growing problem.
I strongly urge the government to legislate urgently because sorcery has reached epidemic levels and destroying our society faster than HIV/AIDS.
