Kumuls outclass Madang Fox 6-1

By SAMPSON BONAI
TUGUBA Laitepo Morobe Kumuls maintained their supremacy in the Telikom National Soccer League by beating Madang Fox 6-1 at LFA Park on Saturday.

Kumuls went on a scoring spree, after trailing 1-0 in the opening minutes, to be third on the ladder behind leader Hekari United and Rapatona.
Morobe Kumuls coach Stanley Khanna and club president Chris Kunaban commended their boys for a great performance, saying that they have made the people of Morobe proud of their victory.
“The boys put in 101 per cent effort to put the smile on the face of our supporters and I’m proud of our victory. At least we did find the right winning combination,” Khanna said yesterday.
Madang Fox coach Amos Romo blamed their loss on lack of team co-ordination upfront that allowed Kumuls to capitalise on their weakness to outscore them in all departments.
“We lacked coordination and combination upfront in the second half and allowed our opposition to capitalise on our mistakes and go on a scoring spree to beat us,” Romo said.
“I commend Richard Lange and Adrian Komu for displaying their great soccer skills but both lacked support upfront to finish off their set of moves,” he said.
Fox had the upper hand when Lange scored but Kumuls leveled through striker Richard Daniel.
After the break the flood gates opened and the Kumuls scored through Sowera Gurti (two goals), Lesly Nate, Thomas Mame, and Kohu Liem each picking up one each.
