Suburban rugby league ready

PORT Moresby Suburb Rugby Football League (POMSRFL) is calling on all interested suburbs to pay their required K500 affiliation by Friday.
President of POMSRFL Billy Yaki said so far Digicel Strit Venders of 9-Mile, D8 Mosquitoes of 8-Mile, Maimi Eagles from Porebada and Bomana Crushers have made attempts to pay 50% of the required fees.
Yaki expressed concern that other seven suburbs have yet to pay their fees.
Those surbubs are Morata, Erema, Boroko, Tatana, Pari, Kone and Hohola Leagues.
President stressed that the defaulters plus those who have made part payment have until this Friday to submit the fees.
“The competition will really depend on how many teams we have to run the competition. It would be more appropriate to have eight or 10 teams to get the competition up and running,” he said.
Yaki said the onus is now on administrators of respective suburb leagues to submit their fees.
He said all the leagues were given the account number and they must deposit the money into the account.
He said POMSRFL will run separately but will come under Port Moresby Rugby Football League competition.
Port Moresby Rugby Football League chairman Solomon Ravu confirmed that they have allowed POMSRFLinto their competition.
However, he said, they will have different management but their competition comes under Port Moresby League.
Ravu said the inclusion of POMSRFL competition will see the removal of reserve grades while premier teams in the Port Moresby league can use the POMSRFLteams as their feeder clubs.
