Kokoda aggrieved... Protesters, mostly
young men, women and children marched with
placards to the airport to demand answers from
Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd (right) on
arrival in Port Moresby from Australia yesterday
morning, but were stopped by police at the edge
of the airport, where Rudd was being met by
dignitaries and inspecting a guard of honour. –

Thank you, but... Australian Prime
Minister Kevin Rudd surprised his PNG
counterpart Sir Michael Somare with a present, a
Brisbane Broncos rugby league jersey. It has a
special “Somare 1”at the back. Rudd, an official
patron of the Broncos, received a similar gift
from the club on Monday. Somare accepted the
gift, but made sure Rudd knew his heart is with
the Blues, the New South Wales State of Origin
