Scrutiny into Health Dept lauded
It really ticks one off to hear the National Health Department and the AIDS Council Secretariat go through good governance and accountability scrutiny by Health Minister Sasa Zibe.
When John Hickey was finance minister, the slow bureaucratic process, buck passing and nepotism corrupted and corroded the Health Department.
Staff and the department looks like a sickly, dying patient in the corridors of Waigani.
The National AIDS Council Secretariat and provincial coordinators are supposed to help alleviate or assist in reducing the pandemic. Instead they get themselves in trouble for misuse and abuse.
Who can we trust to get the money to the right place and people on the ground that really needs the help and the medicine?
Those who hurt will keep on hurting, while the white collar thieves in Waigani will continue to squander funds and allowances.
Congratulations Zibe for shaking the comfort zone of selfish people, who have found a safe haven and easy money from AusAID funds channelled through the National AIDS Council.
