| All is set for 2007 shoot-out golf finals | |

PLAYERS in the challenge for the
major honours in the 2007 Ela Motors Shoot-Out Golf competition are
preparing for the final play-off set for Sunday. The competition, into its 12th consecutive year at the Port Moresby Golf course, will be contested from the 10th to the 18th tee. More than 100 players have participated in this competition, which is owned by Ela Motors PNG, and the challenge should be an exciting day for the players and the supporters. The shoot-out concept involves 10 players playing over nine holes. One player drops out on every hole and the others continue to the next hole until there are only two players left to tee off on the ninth tee. The 10 winners from the last 10 rounds of the 2007 competition will participate in this Sunday’s challenge. They are Bill Crain, Rey Sorbejana, Ron McDonald, Yokin Kipie, Peter Murgkerhel, Ted Dieffenbach, Paul Simon, Wayne Honeyset, August Peni and Eddie Ruha. There will be another group of 10 made up of the players who only played the first hole in the competition and were shot out. In the First Hole Drop Out competition, the finalists are Eric Tey, Zanie Theron, Ling Ling, Smokey Dawson, Maries Honeyset, Grant Hoffmeister who is away so has handed his spot to Graeme Murray, Tony Meehan, Andrew Donald, Pricislla Rolfe and John Nilkare. All players are asked to register from 8am at the Port Moresby Golf Club. |
