NSL heads into last round of games before the finals
By SAMPSON BONAI
THE last round of Telikom National Soccer League (NSL) will be played this weekend to determine the minor premiers and final teams that will qualify to play in the finals later this month.

National Soccer League operations manager Edward Tauoli yesterday confirmed the final draws of the last round of games to be played in Lae and Port Moresby this weekend but could not give further details.
Tuguba Laitepo Morobe Kumuls will meet Gelle Hills at Telikom Park in Port Moresby, Welgris Highlanders clash with Besta Madang Fighters and Madang Fox battle it out with competition leaders Hekari United in Lae. Inspac Rapatona will have a rest.
Morobe Kumuls have found the right winning combination after disposing off Madang Fox in a one-sided affair and have set their eyes on the top four placing.
They have trained hard all week under the watchful eyes of assistant coach Iso Mathew.
Despite losing six players to the PNG U23 squad Kumuls have found a right winning combination to win the remaining games for the team before the finals in two weeks time and coach Mathew is happy with his side’s preparations so far.
“I will announce my final 15 players to board the plane to Port Moresby to meet our rivals Gelle Hills. They beat us 2-0 in the first round and we will go out to prove to them that we mean business,” Iso said.
Besta Madang Fighters coach John Gringo and Madang Fox coach Amos Romo could not be reached for comment on their respective side’s preparations for their last games in Lae tomorrow.
Hekari United are also confident of an easy walkover against Madang Fox to secure the minor premiers title and will be fielding their best side to travel to Lae today for their encounter at LFA Park.
Welgris Highlanders also could not be reached for comments but they are expected to field their best side to meet Besta Madang Fighters to keep their finals hopes alive.
