Steering committee confident of trouble free election

THE Western Highlands provincial election steering committee is confident that the coming national election will be trouble free in the province.
This was said by acting provincial administrator Michael Wandil, who chaired the committee’s first meeting for the year.
Mr Wandil said preparations were well underway to conduct a trouble-free election in the province despite threats received of disruption to the election process.
He said the committee would look into any woes that may arise before and after the issue of writs to ensure that the election was conducted without any trouble.
He said if there was any legal implication, they would refer the matter to the appropriate authorities to take it up.
Security coordination team leader Chief Insp John Kale said according to intelligent reports received from sources there would not be a major election related trouble predicted by some people in the province.
