of better and quality equipment to enhance its players.
The two recipients yesterday were womens rugby and the Port
Moresby rugby union.
President of PNGRFU Graeme Osborne said with IRB's assistance, PNG
is able to support its affiliates it was up to PNGRFU to ask for
more allocation to continue the initiative.
"With rugby a go ahead sport played now in most centres in the
country, the equipment should assist our players with conducive
training," Osborne said.
Chief Executive officer Peter Tsiamalili Jr added that the
initiative would also ensure its affiliates to have access to
basic training especially with the new equipment which is very
expensive to purchase.

order to acquire the assistance.
The equipment includes balls, kicking tees, body pads, tackling
bags, hit shields, body armour and cones.
Womens rugby president, Cybelle Druma said with the unlimited
resource faced by clubs in obtaining such equipment, the gesture
is definitely going to be a relief.

boost to training programs especially with clubs not able to have
such equipment," Druma said.
Druma said with three centres under the pilot project, the trial
endeavour should be a boost to Port Moresby, Goroka and Alotau.
Already six clubs have signed up with the Port Moresby
competition.
They include University, Southern Chief, Lasalians, Crusaders,
Wanderers and Defence.
The competition is set to kick off next month.
