Zairas book pre-season grand final

ZAIRAS have booked their first grand final berth and will play the winner of 7Homes and Yanga Pirates in the Wau soccer pre-season grand final on Saturday.
7Homes fought its way into the finals after disposing off some of the top teams in the competition such as Kaindi and Pascols.
In the women's division the two arch-rivals United and Zairas will battle it out for the major honours in the pre-season grand finals.
Wau Soccer Association president Shem Farock said they have played their pre-season competition in the past three weeks and will be playing their grand final this weekend.
"I want to thank all the teams that took part in the pre-season competition and congratulate those teams that made it to the finals and appeal to them to play soccer in the true of the game to promote the code in this part of Morobe," Farock said.
"The season proper competition will get off the ground on March 17 and eight senior men's and women's teams have confirmed their participation and six teams to play in the junior divisions," he said.
Farock said the junior clubs are made up of six teams with the U/14 boys and U/17 boys and girls teams who would also be participating in the competition this season.
Meanwhile, Wau had finalised a team to participate in the coming Morobe Soccer Federation championship that will be co hosted by LFA and Lahi on April 16-22.
