| No plans to address housing shortage | |
|
IT is very sad that one of the
important government departments is not performing its functions. Squatter settlements in the cities are by-products of NHC’s failure to provide accommodation for Papua New Guineans (95% of squatter settlers are working class, both in private and public organisations). There is obviously no housing plan for PNG, no policy framework to address housing in PNG. In fact, there is no short to mid-term plan by the minister responsible when he took office to set some direction for the NHC. Simple people are sick of hearing of corruption. It seems like all government departments are corrupted. The government has lost its grip on the real issue of good governance, prudent management and transparent administration of public funds and office. Jheorge W Kakoe, Via email |
