HEKARI United claimed the minor premiership title after disposing off struggling Madang Fox 3-1 in the final round of Telikom NSL clash at LFA Park on Saturday.
In another interesting encounter Besta Madang Fighters ended Welgris Highlanders hopes of making the final four.
The win by Fighters has helped push Inspac Rapatona to complete the top four of the NSL ladder.
Hekari finished on top of the ladder followed by Gelle Hills while Morobe Kumuls and Inspac Rapatona.
Hekari United’s combination between Brian Tuhiana, Tasola Niebo and Thomas Daniel and Kema Jack was in superb form and attacked at all angles to force their opponents running all afternoon.
Their tireless efforts paid off when they forced their opponent inside their own territory before Eric Komeng wrong footed Fox cover to shake the net for an early 1-0 lead.
Abraham Enoch added another goal to their goal tally after he outpaced the cover defence to shake the net to sail into healthy waters 2-0.
Madang Fox experienced hands Adrian Komu, Richard Lange, Stanis Gufino and Wesley Bonje also linked up well, however, they lacked proper coordination up front to convert their moves into points.
Hekari enjoyed an afternoon’s stroll in the park to keep penetrating into the roaming Flying Fox territory to create an opportunity for Daniel Barnabas to slam home their final goal to surge to a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Just before fulltime Madang Fox hit back through Brandon Lucas.
