| Drugs battle moves to Gulf | |

The sleepy Gulf station of Malalaua
will come alive this weekend as the Kick Drugs Out of PNG special
project looks to launch their anti-narcotics drive in the rural area of
the Southern region with the local Malalaua Taekwondo club and one from
Kikori. The awareness and advocacy project is a martial arts initiative aimed at informing youth and school children about the dangers of drug abuse in particular marijuana and other associated substances like alcohol, home-brew and betelnut. The theme of the awareness will focus on character development, positive living and self discipline of the sport of Taekwondo. The event is set to begin on Friday 14th March in Malalaua with the involvement of the National Narcotics Bureau in collaboration with other NCD based Youth bodies. |
