| JC will always remain a champ | |
|
MY brother Buka and I would like to
convey our heartfelt condolence to the family of the late Julius Casey (JC). He was a decent bloke and a true champion. He was a mate to everyone from Kamkumung, East/West Taraka, Bumbu/Government Compound and all of Lae city including Papuan Compound where we started playing football with our beloved football club Morobe Tigers. He was so popular that even my relatives in Tari (father's side) and Kagua (mother's side) always asked me whether JC was from Kerema. The Tigers were then made up of Keremas with big names such as the Sois, Mettas, Farehos, Kaves, Lakaros, etc. But I used to tell them nogat em mangi Sepik ya. I leant a lot from JC from my playing years as a junior to a senior (1984-1996). JC was a true Tigerman. Many had said and I will always say that JC was one of the best fullbacks I have seen and played with. How can I forget that memorable Kumuls game where JC played like a true champion at the back. JC, thank you for being a friend, mentor and mate. I will never forget that for the rest of my life. May you and your wife rest in eternal peace.
