| Rapatona make first appearance in finals | |
|
By HENRY MORABANG INSPAC Rapatona will make its debut in the semi professional soccer competition when it takes on Gelle Hills in the second semi-finals of the National Soccer League tomorrow at Lloyd Robson Oval in Port Moresby. Rapatona sneaked into the top four courtesy of Besta Madang Fighters win over Welgris Highlanders. Trainer Clement Anisa Cafu said this was a turning point and everyone was looking forward to the match tomorrow. ìRapatona boys will take them on,î he said yesterday. Rapatona will be without two of its players Selan Elijah and Andrew Marampau junior but Cafu said he has enough replacement to fill their shoes. ìAll the guys are looking forward for a good game,î he said. He said head coach Kisakiu Posman have reminded the boys to think positive about the game. Goal-keeper-cum-striker Tapas Posman has done a tremendous job in their final game against Hekari. Posman should partner Kialou Pouru in the front in place of Percy Mataio. Pouru who had a brilliant game on the wing in place of Jason Wesley cause havoc in Hekari backline during the final game. Chique Posman needs to work a bit harder to organise and set his players if Rapatona want to win the game. In the backline, John Baulo should stop giving unnecessary tackle on his opponents which almost cause a big blow against Hekari. The National was unable to contact Wesley Waiwai who seem to have two good assistants in Robert Popat and Raymond Nasa Both have been calling shots for the club ... and the club has been performing well to this date. Interestingly, Popat, who walked out of the club for some unknown reasons, will try to settle the score tomorrow. The return of stylish striker Tau Winnie will really boost their attack against Rapatona. In the midfield skipper Nathan Vincent, Donowan Kabewa and Steven Mali must play a leading role here. The match should go down to the wire. |
