MPs must help end fighting

AS a former student, I would like to share my views regarding the Highlands Lutheran International School which has been affected by tribal fighting between the Wapukins and Ambulinis.
I support MP Sam Abal’s call for the tribal fighting, which has been going on for years, to stop.
Some of the school’s buildings have been destroyed and students, teachers and parents are fearful that the situation would worsen.
More than K1.2 million worth of property has already been destroyed.
I believe the school is run by a mission to promote literacy and human resource development and I do not see the reason why the tribes should attack it.
Politicians should do something about it, in particular Wapenamanda MP Miki Kaeok and Enga Governor Peter Ipatas.
I also strongly support the decision of principal Dr Brent Kilback and his teachers to continue classes despite the threats and I hope parents will support them.
Police presence is not enough to keep the entire issue under control – it is time politicians step in.
