PNC names men for WNB seats

PAPUA New Guinea needs young and vibrant leaders with vision, management skills and proven track records in the community.
This was the recommendation from the People’s National Congress leader and Opposition leader Peter O’Neill over the weekend when the party endorsed three candidates for seats in West New Britain.
The three are current MP for Kandrian Gloucester David Sui, Steven Keu Vogae for the Regional seat and businessman Reni Reinmann for Talasea Open.
Mr Vogae, a community worker and environmental scientist, is the brother of late longtime MP Bernard Vogae.
Mr Reinmann comes from a well-established family in the business community of West New Britain.
Mr O’Neill said the PNC had been quietly and diligently studying the profiles of all candidates around the country and was confident in the types of leaders it was choosing to run under its banner.
“The quality of government depends entirely on quality and leadership.
“That is why we have been working hard on selecting only those individuals who have proven track records in management, in people skills and those with integrity and vision to undertake challenges of directing the course of PNG into the next decade and beyond,” Mr O’Neill said.
He said PNC was stable and had clear spelt-out policies addressing issues on the broad spectrum of governance in the country.
