Sinclair lashes out at Wenge

PROMINENT businessman and New Generation Party non-parliamentary leader Sir Bob Sinclair has blamed Governor Luther Wenge and the Morobe provincial government for the deterioration of Lae and Morobe province.
Sir Bob, who is contesting the Morobe Regional Seat against Mr Wenge, made the blunt accusation at the NGP convention in Lae last Saturday.
He said the only significant government policy Morobeans now enjoyed and warmly accepted was the district treasury roll-out programme initiated by NGP leader and Lae MP Bart Philemon during his tenure as the Finance and Treasury minister.
“Concerns continue to be raised by the 500,000 people of Morobe on the future of their province, virtually everyday at my business premises.
“Morobe province has been blessed with natural resources by the good Lord, ready to be exploited sustainably for the future of our children,” the Lae Builders and Contractors supreme told more than 400 delegates.
“After 31 years, Morobe continues to face severe transportation difficulties, children are now without classrooms and are learning under trees in rural areas, teachers are without proper housing whereby some continue to live in classrooms and with friends and relatives, our people are dying from preventable diseases because there is no existence of aid posts and orderlies and health services and our mothers are being made to travel long hours to reach basic services.”
Sir Bob said the classic case in point was the deterioration of Lae roads.
“The deterioration in Lae’s roads is as a result of inadequacies in the Morobe Governor and his government’s administration as annual funds continued to be allocated to programmes and projects for political expediency.”
