Keeping 14 in touch

A total of 14 teams have confirmed their participation at the Lae touch pre-season competition that is scheduled to kick off on March 25 at the Scout Oval in Lae.
Coordinator Pipi Haro said they have had organised to have the touch pre-season competition get under way this weekend and urged all the old and new teams to register their interest to take part in the competition this year.
“I urged all the old clubs and any intending new clubs wishing to take part in the touch competition to register their interest to get themselves organised, and to contact me to have their names listed to take part in the pre-season competition this year,” Haro said.
“Time is running against us and I urge all the clubs to attend a meeting at the Scouts Oval on Thursday at 5pm to finalise the number of interested clubs and get ourselves organised to start up our competition this year,” he said.
Haro said the old clubs are Eriku Grips, Salamanda, Bundi Giants, Bumneng (Adco), Asu Rats, Rutz, Easternerns (East Taraka), NEC Devils, 13E Starts (Backroad), 14B Bullets (1Mile), BM Mates, BC Cats, Numbo Souths and Buimo Road Bulls.
Said Haro: “Once we finalise all the clubs, we would ensure that they organise their teams and make sure that their players are properly dressed to take part in the competition. We would not tolerate any players wearing jeans and shorts, proper boots must be worn before they would be allowed to take the field”.
Haro can be reached on telephone number 4723166 extension 30 for further information regarding the start of the preseason competition.
