Kaupa acting chief of Lae Rugby League

LAE rugby elected vice-president Russ Kaupa as its acting president replacing Colin Vaname at its special general committee meeting last Thursday.
Vaname had been replaced because he had failed to attend three consecutive general committee meetings in the past three months and had also failed to inform the executive about his unavailability at these meetings.
Kaupa will be in the acting president until the next annual general meeting next year when the elections of the new officers will be held.
Ten club presidents who attended the special general committee meeting agreed unanimously and voted Kaupa to become the acting president of the league until such time that Vaname informs them of his intention to step down from the top post.
