THE Manufacturers Council of Papua
New Guinea (MCPNG) has recognised long-time businessman and
manufacturer, Sir Ramon Thurecht (Sir Ray Thurecht), for his
contribution and outstanding services. At the MCPNG annual general meeting recently, the council presented him with a plaque in recognition of his outstanding service and contribution to the council and manufacturing sector. Sir Ray recently retired from the manufacturing business. He has been in PNG for more than 50 years and amongst many businesses he owned and operated included the PNG Printing. MCPNG chief Chey Scovell said Sir Ray had been heavily involved in the council and a vast number of boards and committees over the years. Sir Ray has had a number of successful businesses over the years. Sir Ray has been an active member and director of the council since its incorporation in 1991. Members of the council are required to be actively engaged in manufacturing, so when Sir Ray closed PNG Printing he ceased to be eligible for membership. |
