Kuima Security pays dividend
By SAMPSON BONAI
THE Kuima Security Services has made
its first dividend payment of K35,000 to its joint venture partner
Kuima Kainantu Security Services last Wednesday.
Kuima Security managing director Anton Kaupa said the dividend was
part of a K200,000 received from Kainantu-based miner Highlands
Pacific Gold which hires the services of the security agency.
Kuima Security also received a dividend of the same amount.
The payment was made at the company’s head office in Lae.
“I’m delighted to make the first dividend payment of K35,000 to
partner Kuima Kainantu Security Services,” Mr Kaupa said.
“The balance of K130,000 would go to the company’s operational
costs in Kainantu unit, which has 100 offices and security
personnel and in Lae.
“We are a 100% locally-owned company that started small and have
grown to become a reputable security company,” he added.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the group general
manager of Bilimoi Development Co (Mr) Bernard Kelontii for
supporting a locally-owned company and giving the business to us
... we are now making our first dividend payment to our joint
venture company in Kainantu.”
“In our first year of operations we faced hardships and had to
struggle like any other business in the market place.
“But we have come through the hard way and had gained a lot of
experience on how to run and manage our own business,” Mr Kaupa
said. “Our joint venture security engagement with Highlands
Pacific Gold at their mining operations camp in Kainantu had borne
fruit and I want to thank the people of Bilimoia for having the
trust and confidence in our company and for entering into joint
venture business agreement with us based upon trust and respect
and we honour that commitment.”
