Ineffective medical services at military hospital

I AM a soldier serving with the 1st Royal Pacific Regiment stations at the Taurama Barracks and have seen many deaths among other soldiers and their family members which could have been avoided.
The deaths were due to ineffective medical services provided by the military hospital.
The hospital has one surgeon and a couple of other medical doctors.
However, since its renovation by the Australian Defence Force, the hospital has remained closed.
Recently, warrant officer Midi died from a ruptured appendix.
When he sought treatment, he was given only painkillers. No doctor attended to him.
He was later sent to the Port Moresby General Hospital where he was operated on but it was too late and he died.
I call on the commander of the PNG Defence Force to initiate an investigation into the medical services.
