Yawari disagrees with adviser

SOUTHERN Highlands Governor Hami Yawari and his provincial education advisor Robert Rami are at loggerhead over the arithmetic of the government’s free education policy.
This has prompted Mr Yawari to urge public servants in the province not to issue misleading statements on his government’s free education policy.
Mr Yawari was responding to reports quoting Mr Rami as saying that K22 million was needed and not K18 million as approved by the PEC.
Mr Rami had urged parents to continue paying the 30% parental component of the subsidised education policy .
Governor Yawari said yesterday that the statement was misleading because the PEC had made a decision.
“He is not a politician.. He should shut up.”
