Clans plegde support for AVDA

THE Arona valley landowners in Yonki, Eastern Highlands province, unanimously resolved to allow Arona Valley Development Authority (AVDA) to continue soliciting benefits for them from the Government and PNG Power.
The agreement was reached in a meeting between Anonantu, Tavaronu and Tibufa clan groups last Saturday at Tibufa village.
A media statement released said AVDA was the only legitimate body through which the Government and PNG Power would channel benefits to the landowners of the Ramu hydro project.
It also said leaders of the three clans pledged support for AVDA and assured the Government, law enforcing agencies and PNG Power they would continue to maintain the cordial relationship they had through AVDA.
