School gets long-awaited facelift

THE Hohola Demonstration Elementary School, one of the biggest elementary schools in the country, is finally getting a facelift after 10 years.
Head teacher Anna Aurere is happy that the renovation, which she said was long overdue, was underway.
Four classrooms and teachers’ offices will undergo renovations which will be carried out by National Enterprise Limited, a nationally-owned carpentry and joinery company.
Mrs Aurere said: “The present state of classrooms is not conducive for early childhood learning and elementary teachers do not have their own administration block or office.
“It demoralises teachers’ performances and hinders children’s learning processes.”
The school has 18 classrooms and 710 students.
