Car rental firm backs Wewak union

Car rental firm, No.1 Hire Car, has donated a set of uniforms to Water Rats Rugby Union Club of Wewak.
According to player-coach Wesley Kivung, the club is lmade up of unemployed youths from the surrounding Saksak compound and residents of Chapel road in Wewak.
Kivung thanked No.1 Hire Car for coming to the rescue with the set of uniforms at such a crucial time because securing sponsorship in Wewak was not easy.
No1 Hire Car Wewak resident manager Otto Henry Seneng said when presenting the set of uniforms that it was part of the company’s community obligation to support sports, especially the code of rugby union.
He said the club had a duty to promote the image of the company by not involving in on-field or spectator violence, which were becoming prevalent in PNG sports today.
Patron Jenny Butler also praised No1 Hire Car for the generous support adding that such assistance would certainly boost the code of rugby union in the province.
She also spoke highly of her team, saying she was confident that they would make it to the finals.
