You talk to me as if
I was yet a little kid
Tell me to do that, than this
Like I still didn't know things
Commands, orders with complaining
What good is it to me
Constraint, contently and calmly
I will act as I see fit
From me to you, I see
Belittling and very demeaning
Still I will not succumb to it
No matter how bad it would be

April winds

I'm like a blind man
Feeling my way along
This lonely road to nowhere
Searching for the valley where dreams are made.

I'm like a deaf man
Reading your lips
I pretend to hear
But it's only the throbbing in my ears

I'm like a mute man
When I look at you
Mesmerized
My speech is gone
And I don't know whether to laugh or cry

I'm like a holy man
Chanting in tongue
I myself do not quite understand
I'm talking in my sleep again

I'm like a child once more
You see me crying in a chapel
These tears are soiled
I know the meaning of brokenness

Mother

From the day I was conceived
You were there for me
You cared for me
You fed me
Never to go hungry
You looked into my eyes
And said, "I love you"

Now that you are old
My heart aches
When I see you in pain
I wish I could hold you in my arms
To soothe away the pain
Oh mother, no other woman
Will take your place in my heart
Until death claims my love for you.

I know, but I'll never know

Is today a new day?
I know, it's Monday,

Is it good for making money?
I know, we'll be rich, honey,

Is it fun to eat, drink and play?
I know, if there's money, it's okay,

Is it better to live like a king?
I know, it's not a huge sin,

Is life going to be that too bad?
I know, it won't make us sad,

What if death comes tomorrow?
I know, but I'll never know.
