| Urgent to get rid of the name Haus Tambaran | |
|
THE people of Papua New Guinea know
that Haus Tambaran means House of Devil or Devil’s Residence. Therefore, how can the nation succeed and prosper when the country’s leaders who are chosen by God’s people mingled with the devils in the House of Parliament? Despite the fact that the name was given with pride and dignity after the country gained its independence in 1975, the name also implies that Papua New Guinea is a home for the devils and demons. So how can we expect good things and the country to prosper? I agree with the letter by “David” of Chuave (March 19) that we need a godly parliament. We must get rid of the name Haus Tambaran urgently. Pokole P., Lae |
