Road repairs get nod

THE National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Wewak approved the upgrading of two major roads and airport redevelopment in the East Sepik and Sandaun provinces.
The project includes the re-gravelling and sealing of the coastal highway from Hawain, East Sepik, to Vanimo , Sandaun, upgrading and construction of the Kaup road, East Sepik, upgrading of Hayfield airstrip, East Sepik, and the upgrading of Tadji airstrip in Sandaun.
East Sepik Governor Peter Waranaka said in a statement the re-gravelling and sealing of from Hawain Bridge in East Sepik to Vanimo, would generate social and economic activities and open up untapped potential for the growth in the Aitape, Lumi, Vanimo and Wewak districts.
