What are Poros for in a final?

By HAIVETA KIVIA
LAE Biscuit Poro's Esa Nasa, Norman Wiangu and rising star striker Raymond Nime dominated the score card in Lae Football Association's pre-season grand final.
The trio's dominance ensured their team a 4-2 victory over arch rival Huon Chemical West.
Poro's four goals were scored by Nasa two, Nime and Wiangu a goal each. West's goals came from striker Chris Nombuk, the best player in the losing side alongside captain Samson Steven.
Poro led 1-0 at halftime and never surrounded the lead, however midway through the second half they nearly faltered when Nambuk scored his second goal.
But, Nasa ensured victory for his side when he squeezed between two defenders and sent ball wide of the diving West keeper to wrap up he match.
West had numerous chances but their strikers rushed the shots at goal and never really threaten the Poro goal until Nambuk stepped up a gear.
Poro's first goal came from Wiagu cross from the edge of the penalty box, which Nasa tapped in.
The second came from a brilliant corner kick from Nime, the young striker curving the ball into the far net.
Wiangu collected the third when he pounced on a rebound from a Nime strke.
In between Nambuk scored his goals and Nasa sealing victory.
In the third and fourth place play offs Boroko Motors Cosmos 2 beat Pelgens Lae Tech 1.
In the women's division Mopi beat Bara for the top honours and ADCO finished third and Barbarians came fourth.
