School uses LPV to vote for SRC

THE Sonoma Adventist College is the first school in East New Britain to use the new voting system to vote for the Student Representative Council (SRC) executives.
The officers from the provincial electoral office were invited last Saturday to help the school to vote for the SRC executives using the new Limited Preferential Voting system.
The province election manager Abraham Wari was impressed with students’ response.
Mr Wari said more than 400 students who took part in voting for their SRC executives using the LPV system fully understand the new system.
He said any schools who wish to elect their leader using the new LPV system were welcome to invite the office to help them conduct their mini elections in the school.
Meanwhile, he said the office was prepared to carry out the LPV awareness programme in a big way starting next month.
He said a total of 36 teams would be sent to 18 local level governments in the province to conduct the awareness before the writs is issued.
Mr Wari said nearly all districts in the province had been covered except for Pomio.
