Blues looking at an origin victory

By SAMPSON BONAI
MINAPE Blues captain Joe Titus has retained his number 12 jumper for the final suburban origin game against Minape Maroons to be played at James Khay Oval in Lae on Sunday (April 1).
And he is confident that his team will scoop up the K5,000 prizemoney and the inaugural Minape Trophy that will be contested for the next three years.
Titus had been in devastating form in recent games by leading Blues to level the series 1-all last weekend. That was a bone-crushing encounter in front of 4,000-plus cheering spectators who were kept on their toes through out the entire 80 minutes of the game.
Titus will be assisted upfront by the big props Saki Biki and Philip Mathew, back rower Michael Kaman, hooker Eddie Mure and lock Kackie Warran to control the front line up front.
Coach Apo Kalimbu had put the side through serious training in the past two weeks concentrating on their attack and defence and to move up quickly to stop the ball carrier.
Minape Maroons are also confident of wrapping up the series after winning the opener early this month. And they have spent the past two weeks at training brushing up on their skills to halt the Blues onslaught
They have also retained the services of block busting hooker and captain Peter Johns to lead their charges up front and lay the foundation for the backline to finish off their moves.
Johns will be supported by props Kui Kakare and Junior Simon, back rowers Eric Joseph and Charles Kaki and lock David Black.
