| Higher gold
grades at Komsen: Frontier |

By FRANK ASAELI FRONTIER Resources Ltd has confirmed the continuity of higher gold grades at its Komsen prospect in Papua New Guinea in the main mineralised structure. An announcement posted on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) reported that hole AFD 010 targeted and confirmed the continuity of higher gold grades at a moderate depth of approximately 85m vertically in the main mineralised structure with 3.0m of 10.97g/t gold. Frontier managing director Peter McNeil said continuity of gold mineralisation in the Komsen structure has been confirmed by drilling over a 100m strike length and to more then 320m vertical depth. He said holes AFD 002, 004, 006, 007 and 009 document the near surface primary higher grade gold and or zinc in the Komsen structure and AFD 005, 010 and 016 confirm it at depth. The drilling programme has defined a high-grade mineralised zone at the North West end of the Komsen structure that appears to have a steep plunge in that direction and the high grade zone is open along strike to the North West and down dip, increasing in width at depth in several cases. “All these factors are encouraging for the ultimate possibility of defining a viable gold deposit,” Mr McNeil said. He said further drill evaluation is definitely warranted and will be starting forthwith. The Komsen prospect is located at the North-Western corner of the extinct Mt Andewa strato-volcano, which measures about 9km in diameter. Much of the surface exploration work in the Mt Andewa area was carried out by Freeport for gold, copper and base metal mineralisation. |
