PAP endorses former district administrator

THE Peoples Action Party (PAP) has endorsed the former district administrator for Wosera/Gawi Ronald Asik to run under its ticket in the coming general election.
The announcement was made last Tuesday by PAP leader and Maprik MP Gabriel Kapris during the official launching of a private school at Kuninji village in Wosera, East Sepik province.
Mr Kapris represented Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare and the National Government at the launching of the Nanakundi Christian Academy.
Sir Michael could not attend the event due to other commitments.
Mr Kapris said he received more than 1,000 applications from intending candidates to contest the election under the PAP ticket.
However, he said the party would only endorse 40 candidates in the upcoming elections, and three would be women.
