Give newcomer Eagles time to settle in, says manager

SUPPORTERS of newly franchise team, Besta Eagles should not expect too much for their new team.
Eagles operations manager Alphonse Pu said supporters in Western Highlands should not expect too much and do the right thing to support the team.
He said the team include four Kumuls and eight seasoned SP cup players are named in the new look Kunjin Eagles who will be out to restore the lost pride as the true representative team from the Western highlands.
The representatives are evenly placed around the team as the forwards will be led by Francis Ray and Jack Kilip with one other Kumul yet to be named while Pagini Warriors captain Ezekiel Ben.
Also named in the forward squad is Highlands Zone block busting forward, Sent Nonggor and Eagles veteran Stanley Akinu. Consistent forward from Gomis, Alfred Usu was rewarded with an inclusion with former Kumul and Muruks back row, David Ako to beef up the forward squad.
The backline squad is composed of two junior Kumuls Stephen Neng and Dion Aiye. Former Waghi Tumbe fullback specialist, Dai Tukumbi and Paraka's consistent back liner and Thomson Atep are also a former junior Kumul have also been included in the backlines.
Banz has contributed three back liners in Abraham Ambelye and Greg Malye while Kurumul Kips has contributed three in Samuel Kiap, John Kupie and Kapil. Banz Besta's John Rasta who has been consistent for his Banz side has been rewarded with an inclusion in the train on squad.
Pu said the squad have been selected from the Melpa Cup competition.
The management of the team has former Waghi Tumbe official, Edward Kupo has been named as coach while former Kumul and current Junior Kumul and Highlands Zone coach, Joe McCorner is named as trainer. The two men will be supported also by former Kumul forward; John Waka will assist with training, while medical doctor is Smee Rank.
The first part of the Kunjin Eagles train on squad is:
Dai Tukumbi, Ezekiel Ben and Dusty Dop (Minj Ku), Alphonse Kapil, Samuel Kiap and John Kupie (Kurumul Kips), Abraham Ambelye, Greg Malye and John Rasta (Banz Besta), Thomson Atep, Sent Nonggor, Stanley Akinu and Jack Kilip (Paraka), Skipper Mel, Alfred Usu, Francis Ray and Stephen Neng (Gomis) and David Ako and Dion Aiya (Kuri).
Edward Kupo (coach) Joe Mc Corner (trainer) John Waka (assistant trainer/coach), Dr Smee Rank will be the team doctor while Alphonse Pu is the acting team manager.
