'Be worried about being raided by us'
WARI VELE Raiders will be no easy
beat come 2007 competition. Coach Richard Wagambie wants his
charges to be competitive week in and week out during the 18-weeks
competition which start this Sunday.
The former Kumul centre was hand picked by franchise owner
Honorable Governor for NCD Wari Vele as his first choice coach
after disastrous performance last year.
Vele strongly believed that the non-nonsense Sepik man would
restore some lost pride for the Central people.
As former player both at the international and national level,
Crosswald Verenagi, a close associate of Mr Vele said, Wagambie
can help improve the team's ranking in this year's competition.
Wagambie said his short term objective is to treat every game with
respect and hopefully register a win and his long term goal is to
finish in the top five.
Raiders coach said his boys will treat each game as it comes.
"I expect my players to showcase the vast skills of rugby league
that I have though them.
"I want my team o win games skillfully and off course reduce the
level of the basic fundamental errors. To put it short, I want
them to use their "Brains and not brown" to win games," he said.
Wagambie stressed that there will be no chicky business. Coming
from a strong discipline background, Coach Wagamie wants nothing
else but a discipline from his players both on and off the field.
He said these was one of the major reasons why Raiders have not
been performing well last season, and he strongly believe that he
has tidy up in this area.
Coach strongly tipped four of his players Emmanuel Uki, Nixon Kolo,
Philip Kumiye and halfback as the player to watch while underrated
hooker Dairi Iageti and Leo Chris should be the game breaker for
his side.
The unofficials side for this season: Emmanuel Uki, Leroy Muriki,
Jared Hoada, Gimapau Keimelo, Wilfred Henry, Joshua Nablu, Geno
Ralani, Nixon Kolo, Dairi Iageti, Luke Kolalio, Philip Kumiye,
Andrew Norman and Jack Kuman
