Finance banking on good form
By WENDY KATUSELE
KINA Finance are looking for their first ever premiership titles
when they take on Bank South Pacific in premier division of the private
companies netball grand final on Sunday.
On record Kina has won two of their competition round of matches and are
banking on their past form to out gun the bankers who are definitely out
to claim a premiership title too but then it would a daunting task to go
pass the defending champions.
Kina has seasoned player and goal shooter Kapu Ravu who should pot the
vitals points the team needs with the support of partner Rata Raula.
Both have been a formidable combination and should continue the trend at
the Rita Flynn courts come the big day.
Team Manageress Noreen Gubag is confident her chargers will be out to
claim their first ever premiership title.
"The girls are ready to go and definitely confident to take our first
ever premiership title," Gubag said.
Kina's midfield department consisting of Sokara Gumuna (WD), Mea Willie
(C) and Lesley Kulala (WA) should ensure their shooters get the valuable
ball procession.
Kina's defense will be manned by Vagi Kohu and Rerenita Sepe both
capable of pulling off some good saves.
Coming off the bench should see Theodora Keneke, Geaua Goasa, Olive
Kapigeno, Angela Terea and Heni Pala to give support.
BSP on the other hand have come this far and booking the first grand
final berth will no way see the bankers bow down to Kina's record but
its is sweet revenge time.
BSP will be led by seasoned players Medlyn Topelemu at goal shooter and
former international Renagi Dringo at goal attack.
Both are expected to lead BSP into another back to back title.
BSP's line up Topelemu (GS0, Dringo (GA), Kaye John (WD), Linda
Vanuawaru (C), Vavine Raula (WA), Vele Iamo (GD), and Betty Kila (GK).
Captain Topelemu said Kina was an experienced outfit with height
advantage in both the shooting and defence department but is confident
her chargers will put up a strong fight.
