Candidate tells MPs to stop handout

AN intending candidate for the Angoram Open seat has called on Members of Parliament to stop injecting substantial amount of cash, earth moving equipment including vehicles and outboard motors into their electorates at this time with the elections just around the corner.
Paul Wani, who will be up against Angoram MP and State Enterprise and Information Minister Arthur Somare, said while it was the prerogative right for MPs to deliver services to their people, handout, especially on the eve of elections should be stopped.
Mr Wani said such practice was being viewed by many intending candidates as an attempt to bribe voters.
