Bomana receives timely Easter gifts

By RICHARD MANDUI
THE Bomana Correctional Institution outside Port Moresby has received several timely Easter presents.
These presents came in the form of:
*Sealed road from Della Salle High School junction to its main gate;
*Replacement of old vehicles purchased by National Capital District Commission; and
*A K40,000 donation for the construction of a detainees chapel.
These Easter gifts were announced by NCDC chairman at a graduation ceremony marking the completion of an intensive six-week management audit refresher training (MART) at the institution early this month.
The MART programme is an ongoing training activity that has been implemented throughout all Correctional Institutions throughout the country and is funded by the Law and Justice Sector Programme (LJSP).
Speaking at the ceremony Commissioner Richard Sikani told the graduands that he was totally committed to human resource development in CS and would have MART included within the training component of the 2008 recurrent budget.
The graduation saw 198 members graduating.
