Punaha challenges Kalang FM

PANGTEL director-general Charles Punaha issued a stern challenge to Kalang FM to be a major force in the radio broadcasting market and reach out to more people using its expanding national network.
He issued the challenge yesterday after renewing Kalang FM’s broadcasting service licence for another 10 years.
Findings on a recently concluded nationwide survey funded by AusAID was also released indicating that radio, television and the print media were not reaching the whole population.
Mr Punaha said as part of the terms and conditions of the licence, Kalang FM was expected to extend its service to all provincial capitals by 2012.
