Lae Biscuit continues with Defence pact

By THOMAS KILALA
DEFENCE Soccer club in the Port Moresby Soccer Association scored a jackpot this week when Lae Biscuit Company came good with a sponsorship package of K10, 000 for this soccer season.
The sponsorship package covered the clubs pre-season fees, club affiliation, player registration fees, and two sets of uniforms including training bibs and balls.
Lae Biscuit sales representative Joe Kama on behalf of the company said, "Lae Biscuit is proud to be associated with Defence Soccer Club for the past 13 years during which time the Club has won two premierships, in 1997 against Rapatona, and in 1999 against PS Ruts".
Club president chief warrant officer Hosea Kapin was thankful to Lae Biscuit once again for the sponsorship.
"I would like to assure our sponsor that we will continue to work closely with the company in promoting their sales by means of advertising through the game of soccer in years to come".
The Defence Soccer Club was formed in 1990 and from the second division it was promoted to the premier division two in 1994 and to the premier league in 1995.
