Bombers make four changes to line-up

By PETER PIA
LAE Builders & Contactors Bombers have made four changes to their line-up for this Sunday’s clash against Bintangor Lahanis in Goroka.
Crowd pleaser half-back and PNG Kumul Nime Kapo who was away and could not take to the field last Sunday was called into the team. And he should be instrumental in restoring some lost pride to the side which suffered a shocking 12-30 loss to Pagani Warriors in Lae last Sunday.
Kapo is expected to use his experience with assistance of his fellow Kumuls Eki Ene for Bombers to make the scoring raids.
Bombers coach Boga Tau released the team list yesterday saying that only four changes were made in the line-up for the game against Lahanis this Sunday.
Tau said that fullback Samson Ninge was shifted to wing position while utility Benson Joel, who played wing, was tasked to look after the Bombers terrority at fullback.
Other changes were centre Glenn Nami being replaced by Magani veteran Leonard Otmar, and Steven Kua, who played half back last Sunday, going on the bench while Kapo takes the charges at half. Bombers veteran second rower Donald Akisaro was called into the team to give more strength to hit man Jerry Kutz, Jonah Mackey and captain John Milba at the forward pack.
Bombers big man Dusty Mockley will be rested this Sunday to fully recover from injuries while the rest of the players from last week’s lineup have been retained.
Tau said the Bombers loss to Warriors in the first game was a wake-up call and he had overhauled the team, adding they are now ready to meet Lahanis in their home ground in Goroka.
“We will be very competitive and tough. The first game loss is an eye-opener and we would not let any obstacle obstruct us,” said Tau.
The likely Bombers line-up: Joel, Ninge, Otmar, Ene, Jr Kaupa, Kapo, Tony Dai, Baine, Akisaro, Jackson Undi, Kutz and Milba. The inter-change players are Yapa Kupu,Cedric Belo,Tatius Maima and Mackey.
