MPs shift camps
MEMBERS of Parliament are making last-minute moves to position themselves well for the general election as the “window period” allowed by law for them to join new political parties, draws to a close.
And yesterday, the ruling National Alliance Party suffered the loss of another of its members, when Sandaun MP Carlos Yuni announced that he was joining the People’s Labor Party (PLP).

Upside down parking… Police in Lae are hunting for the driver of a vehicle that is believed to be the cause of this accident (pictured) at the junction of the Markham Road and Air Corps Road yesterday afternoon. This driver, eye witnesses said, did a sudden U turn at the junction next to the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium and the Lae Yacht Club, catching the driver of this PMV bus and another truck going in the opposite direction by surprise.   — Pictures by PETER KORUGL
