Soccer heavies to clash at Bisini oval

By HENRY MORABANG
SOCCER followers in Port Moresby should see an interesting game when University takes on Momase tomorrow at Bisini Soccer Oval.
Later in the main game, Rapatona will meet PS Rutz while simultaneously on Bisini Oval 2, Guria will test their skills against the newly promoted team, Verave.
On Sunday, Souths United should give LBC Defence a good run for the money on Bisini One and on Bisini Two, Cosmos should beat B-Mobile.
University bounced back from their shock loss to Cosmos to completely outclass Guria last Sunday.
With their expensive buy in Michael Lohai from Rapatona, University should have enough ammunition to give Momase something to think about.
The University and Momase match should also witness the replay of the pre-season semi finals three weeks ago where Momase held University to full time and they had to go for a penalty shoot-out.
Under former University player Rosen Matanga, the boys from Gerehu are improving every weekend in their match.
University with its star-studded side should win this match.
Rapatona should prove too strong for PS Rutz. The club has retained the bulk of its premier players plus few juniors who were promoted to play in the top level football.
Goalkeeper cum stopper/sweeper Tapas Posman has fast become a hit in his new position and should no doubt win the post ahead of incumbents.
Russel Inai, Kialou Pouru, Robert Sios, Ricky Mesak, John Baulo and Clinton Caleb should give Chris Mullul and Donovan Kabewa led team a good match for the round.
PS Ruts have yet to find a winning combination and the game against Rapatona would be real test for Mullul and his boys.
Guria coach Adam Lema will have to play his card right when they take on the locals, Verave in the other premier match on Saturday.
Guria lost to University will want to win this match. Equally, Verave who came from behind to force the draw against Rapatona was unbelievable when considering the village boys against group of representative players.
It would be a good game. Verave should walk away winners.
In the women’s premier soccer, Guria to beat PS Rutz, Lamana to beat Naniu, PNG Gardener to beat Markharm Yarangs and University on bye.
