Time predicts
emotion
Anger takes a very short time to pass
Sorrow takes a little longer
If it were to pass at a shorter time
it would be anger.
But ove?
Takes the longest time to pass
Because if sorrow and anger were
added together; the time they both
would make up to pass would equal ove

The smile in your eyes
Your hair flying in the wind
These promise poetry
A great writer says
That poetry is as fish roe
And milt in the brain
You must write that poem
Aware of the roe and milt
As yours, not others

Tubuga Bay
Maiba, you are the parable of my life
You are my womb and my space
My heart must soon or later
Like Mikhail, kneel before you
And beg forgiveness, for I have
Betrayed and deserted you
Call me Anux, the tedi if you like
But descend from your star unknown
Take my hand and let me lean on you
And share your puata and ribo
O correct my wrong and give me advice
From none but Magura's mouth
Show me the way through these dark tides
And together, like the mangroves
Let us shoot our arrows at the charging waves
And calm the waters and land so that
We can roam our great savannah country freely
And hunt for those fat delicious kwakas
Tighten my sails with that thick rope
Mikhail stole to take his own life
That I might not take my own
But sail through strenuous waters
Where none but the wakepo fish swims
And dolphins roll on waves in the sun
Let us round those ancient mangrove trees
Walk down the yellowish sandy beach
Hand in hand in search for marabeta and matasupara
And play boruba or dance kawanewa
Before those distant bird calls come again
To remind you that this place is where your father
Chief Komeroana Magura rests in eternal peace
Tubuga Bay.
