| Stop being a hermit, Fr Garia | |
|
Governor Father Garia, you have been
given the responsibility to captain a ship called Simbu. You need technical people to help you chart and steer the ship’s course or else the ship will end up as a wreck. As such, I suggest you do the following: l Revive Simbu development seminar and invite Simbuans to present how best to run the province; l Initiate and launch a five-year development plan; l Sometimes it is best to seek the advice and guidance from experienced people Dame Carol Kidu, Dr Michael Unage, Dr Mauve Sinabare, Joe Mek Teine, Bire Kimisopa, Sir Mekere Morauta, Powes Parkop, etc; l Your staff must not only have proper qualifications and experience, but also know how to navigate their way through the Waigani bureaucratic processes; and l Two heads are better than one. Go through every idea and opinion thoroughly until you decide which is the best. Politic is all about views, opinions, interactions and policies. Don’t live and work in isolation like a hermit because if you do, your ship could well sink in the treacherous ocean, governor. Kado Yalkane, Port Moresby |
