I AM disillusioned with the constant
changes to the Sepik provincial administrator’s post. I believe that no one has served the full four-year term since the departure of Peter Manginde in 1997. Manginde was succeeded by Nelson Hungrabos who served a little more than two years before he was replaced by Raymond Kamanambi in an acting capacity. In 2002, Fantson Yaninen was appointed but was also replaced about two years later following corruption charges. John Alman took over but was also recently replaced by Samson Torovi. Why the constant changes? Why appoint Torovi when there are three shortlisted candidates before the National Executive Council? The Public Service Commission, the Department of Personnel Management, the Ombudsman Commission and other relevant agencies should watch the situation closely to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Petty and childish politics must stop and a qualified person be appointed and he should be allowed to carry out his responsibilities for the full term, for the benefit of the people.
